Performing arts maker from France, currently based in Brussels, Nicolas Dang’s focus is placed on the creation of new representations and reconfiguration of our current norms. Their expression's medium varies from piece to piece, precisely embodying the subject. Within their questioning of “what performing means” in the present days, their portrayal of intimate and political motives swallows the audience to a peculiar experience. Their training includes contemporary dance together with ballet and singing, they studied at the conservatoires of Martigues and Avignon and also were part of the first promotion of La Marche junior Cie. More recently, they performed with T.R.A.N.S.I.T.S.C.A.P.E. in Les Halles de Schaerbeek (as a dancer for 19xBXL) and interned with Collectif Les Autres/Marion Motin for the creation of Narcisse. Currently enrolled in P.A.R.T.S. their background in dance and music is enriched by theater and theory classes. In parallel, they are developing a written archive of studio learnings, reflections on methodologies around dance-making like proprioception, composition, feedback, or consent. They also bring experience in community building, communication, and artistic production through their work with festivals Park Poétik and Fracta Fest (their graduation festival) as well as their long-term involvement in scouting.
